Gaming services
I have been looking around for gamers to play with, albeit electronic or tabletop. I have 4 years experience as a 3.5 ed. dm for dnd. I prefer 3.5 over 4.0 for many reasons, but I'd rather not go on lol. I tend to add a few twists on descriptions and what I allow pc's to do to keep things fresh and to keep my own unique style of gameplay. Also, I am an avid video gamer looking for people to play with. Not CoD or halo, because those are repetitive and lame. Something more along the lines of RPG's or platformers, or whatever seems interesting at the time. If ur curious or interested let me know and I can throw a campaign together and weave together my dm magic lol. Or whatever strikes u as entertaining. Happy gaming!

Tabletop gaming, anyone?
Hi all--

A friend and I are looking for either a tabletop gaming group in Fresno to join, or to start our own tabletop gaming group with likeminded individuals (though I don't think either of us wants to DM, so if that's your thing, then great). I can only speak for myself but it's been a few years, so I'm rusty, but enjoy playing; I'm fairly easygoing so no rules lawyering or serious business from here. :D I'm only familiar with 3rd edition but if need be I can pick up whatever edition is currently running (4th, right?).

If you're interested, we'll probably want to meet up for coffee or something beforehand to make sure we gel before committing to a group.

If you have any questions, just ask! Thanks! :D

Tabletop Role Playing!
Hey guys, was just looking around for role playing groups in fresno and I ended up here.

To cut to the chase, I was wondering if anyone was looking for tabletop games/players and I thought I could at least ask. I myself an a seasoned Role Player, have been at it for about 13 years now, and am actually a developer and co-writer for the Genesis Role Playing system *nod* my DM recently moved down south and we only get to game once a month and my girlfriend and I are looking to get into other groups. In any case, if you think this is something you'd be interested in, please contact me at my Email Tiefling@live.com as I doubt I'll be using LJ much. But please do make contact if you're interested, we can chat, do lunch or whatever, I'm the personable sort xP Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks.

Hello Fresno,

I just recently moved to Fresno with my husband. He works for PG&E and they transfered him here from Bakersfield. I am 25 years old and my husband is 22. Anyways, we are both gamers he plays WoW a lot. I used to but got bored and sold my char on ebay. We also both played everquest for many many years... a matter of fact that's where we met.

A couple of days ago I picked up EQ2. I was wondering if anyone plays it. I'm sooo bored. I don't have any family or friends here and would like to meet some people. So if you want to chat you can find me on MSN under the email address Eqveeshan@yahoo.com =D

Thought I'd say hi
Good MorningFresno,

I found this group a few months back, but forgot that I signed up. Hope everyone had a good new year.

Any how. Thought I'd send out some feelers and do a little plug.

First and foremost, I suppose, would be the LARP. For the last 7 years, I've been a member of the Darktower, a domain of the Camarilla, Whitewolf's official fanclub. We're based in Fresno, our focus fluctuates with our members, Tower, to clovis, to South Valley, but FSU is where we've always ended up. We've hosted Whitewolf LARPs including Vampire the Masquerade (now Vampire the Requiem) and other games. We only play LARP, though we're all gamers of other sorts as well. If you're interested feel free to contact me about playing. You must be 18 years or older because of some adult oriented themes.

Our website is http://camarilla.fresnolarp.com. In the past we have tried other LARP's like Legend of the 5 rings, and Faded Suns. We do have a game coming up this Saturday, either Vampire the Requiem or Mage the Awakening, not sure yet.

I was also wondering if people were playing the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game? I have just enough cards to make a deck, but have some cards coming in the mail. Was wondering if others were playing, since you know, all the stores are selling out in a matter of seconds.

And on WoW... any players? What server, what character, what side? I got a 52 Pally, named Astrius on Kargath, though I just started up my first warrior (since the Beta) on Venture Company, Jaralym, Horde. RpPvP... a change for me.

What games do you guys intend to play this summer?

I'm giving Wind Waker a second run through, and since I don't have my own Gamecube, I'm borrowing my brother's. So I'm planning on playing through Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, and Tales of Symphonia.

So I'm playing Guild Wars, right? This will probably make very little sense to those who aren't familiar with it, but here goes...

I'm in the Random Arena, mostly just acting like a dork between fighting. So finally I decide to fight some more. I'm playing a modified IVEX Trapper, and I get grouped with a Mesmer/Necromancer, Necromancer/Monk, and a pure Monk. I didn't have high hopes for this group, since it's late night, and lots of Koreans are playing, and they're fucking insane when it comes to making effective characters.

Best. Fight. Ever.Collapse )

Feel free to comment on my story or share your own war stories from any games you've played.

Have you ever had one of those games...
...That you just can't stop playing, and there's no explanation why? I mean, it's not necesarily the best game in the world, or the worst game in the world... But for some reason, it's just neat. You can't put it down for whatever reason?

This is what Final Fantasy X is for me. I hadn't even played any of it until about a month ago. And I don't think it's the best game (it places 3rd on my Final Fantasy list)... But there's just something about it. It's different. I can't explain it.

Anyway- so I figured I'd ask another question to hopefully get the ball rolling... What's everyone's favorite game? (Or top 5 if it's really hard to decide.)

I've also debated on throwing together a gaming night maybe once a month... Like going to Blackbeards or something, and anyone that wants to go can meet up- ideas? :)

So....uh....what games are people playing?

I just finished Gun, and have recently started playing DDR again. I used to play a bunch of WoW, but 'retired' as of last month.

Adventures In GM'ing
Yes, actually, I was just thinking about that.

And I know the thingy says video games, but I'm desparate.

This is a repost of something I put in my own journal a couple weeks ago & got no response.

I've been thinking about running a game next month called Land of Og & I have a couple friends who I think are willing to host it at their place, as long as people can commit, or at least aren't flakey & know how to call if they can't make it. I think we're shooting for Friday or Saturday nights. One of them usually gets off work by 8pm on Fridays, but they've been kinda screwy w/ her schedule lately. Keep in mind, this will be my 1st time as a GM, but Land of Og is very silly & seems easy enough. I don't imagine it will even take that long to finish...unless people like it & want to keep going.
I'm also thinking about another game called BarQuest!...which also seems silly, but I wanna build my confidence as a GM first. Or maybe I can convince someone else to run it. Anyhoo, if you are in the Fresno/Clovis are & this sounds like fun to you, let me know!

So we have this community. Is anyone going to post anything?? :P

Brand new community!
A community for people that live in Fresno (or the areas surrounding) and like to play video games! Hooray!

Anyway, I don't have time to put all of the bells and whistles on right now...soooooo...
